Jemma Kidd – sister of model and Strictly star Jodie – is renowned as one of the country's leading make-up artists. Her cosmetics range is stocked exclusively in Birmingham city centre at Boots and she will be appearing at next month's Clothes Show Live at the NEC. Here she gives her tips on how to add a touch of shimmer to your party make-up for a celebratory sparkle

1: Update a traditional smoky eye with a jewel-encrusted liner or use on it's own over a neutral eye shadow for a subtle hint of sparkle. Try the Jemma Kidd Make Up School Crushed Jewel Gel Liner in Azure or Onyx.

2: For evening glamour, add glitter liner over your usual eyeliner. For added drama, go for contrasting colours of eyeliner and glitter liner like Crushed Gel Liner in Onyx over Define Stay-Put Liner in Teal or Antique Gold.

3: For an easy transition from day to evening, try the Crushed Jewel Crème Duo. Apply the crème shadow to eyelids in the morning, then intensify colour in the evening by adding more crème shadow and follow by patting the glitter on top for instant wow factor. Try it in the new shade of Black Diamond for an on-trend look.

4: Strong eye make-up calls for paired down lips, so keep it simple with your natural daytime lipstick and a slick of lip gloss over. Or opt for a natural or nude shade like Hi Shine Silk Touch Lip Gloss in Bare or Shell.

TOP TIP: Apply your eye make-up before the applying concealer, foundation or blusher. This way you can get rid of any stray flecks of glitter without ruining the rest of your make-up.
